Rick Rockwell is currently an assistant professor for American Unviersity's School of Communications in Washington, D.C.
He was an international correspondant for Quehacer Politico, a national magazine in Mexico, from 2001-02. He covered the Contra War in Nicaragua and Pope John Paul II's visit to Central America in the 1980s, among other stories.
In 2003 he co-authored Media Power in Central America (University of Illinois Press, 2003).
